Professional Skills Remarks during trainig period:

  • Finished 1 year of rotating internship before residency at MGH and HHUMC
  • Finished 3 years of internal medicine at Makassed General Hospital, allowing exposure to a diverse population of patients, giving an excellent clinical experience. It is well known in Lebanon, from residents and attendings, that Makassed internal medicine program is considered the toughest, and the best, when compared to others, because of which, graduates of this programs are preferrably accepted in different universities fellowship programs directly.
  • Also rotated at AUBMC for several months during her residency at Makassed General hospital as part of the program.
  • Took an additional 1 year after graduation at Makassed General Hospital as weekly night and weekend duties during the first year of fellowship at HHUMC, upon an exceptional request from the hospital director.
  • Rotated in different Cardiology divisions at Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center (HHUMC) upon a preset 3 years program, with progressive responsibility and seniority, including: CCU-Cardiac Care Unit, CSU-Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, Cardiovascular Surgery Anesthesia Unit, ER, Different Diagnostic Cardiology Units (Echocardiography, Electrophysiology, Stress test, Holter Monitoring), Diagnostic interventional cardiology.
  • Managed to fill 3 log books at each of the echocardigraphy and interventional cardiology units, because of the tremendous load.
  • Took additional night ER (ER Physician), floor (Internist), and CSU calls in addition to the regular Cardiology Fellow combined ER, CCU, and cardiac consult calls at HHUMC, at a rate of 10 calls per month.
  • Took charge of floor cardiac consults on rotation and duty basis regularly
  • Was assigned an exceptional Private Cardiology Clinics responsibility on a regular basis, because of the trusted clinical decision making, in addition to the Outpatient Cardiology Unit.
  • Took charge and shared in academic activities, including Cardiology books chapter reviews, journals, journal clubs, seminars, poster presentations, and conferences, on a rate of 2 activities per week at least.
  • Took additional Cardiologic assignments, on individual call basis, including home calls, outpatient institutions, and other peripheral hospitals according to time allowances.

  • Risk factors and precipitating factors in congestive heart failure (Full Article), (Manar Askar, Nadim Timani), Prospective 1 year chief residency Project, Presented at the Makassed general Hospital Research Symposium, May 2009.
